LAF/Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit

LAFThe department of hematology and oncology has 30 years of experience in autologous, allogeneic and experimental stem cell transplantation. The number of treated patients is continuously increasing. Apart from the treatment of malignant diseases, we focus on transplantations for children with congenital immune deficiencies, bone marrow failure and defects of metabolism. With currently over 25 allogneic transplantations per year, our transplantation department is among the largest in Germany.

The LAF treatment team (with 4 laminar air flow units) consists of experienced doctors, nurses, a team of psychosocial workers with two psychologists, social workers, a care taker, an art therapist, a music therapist, a physiotherapist and a dietitian. We work closely with the departments of pediatric surgery, radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, neurosurgery among others.

Parents also have the possibility of checking into one of the nearby parent houses.

We receive great support from the ,,Elterninitiative Intern 3 im Dr. von Haunerschen Kinderspital München e.V.“, the ,,Kinderkrebshilfe Ebersberg e.V.", the „Mehr LEBEN für krebskranke Kinder - Bettina-Bräu-Stiftung“ and the Panathlon-Club Munich.
