Charity concert for sick children in Ukraine

23.03.2022 - An initiative of the Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital and the Abaco Orchestra

Text in DEU or UKR

Together with the Abaco Orchestra, the Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital of the LMU invites you to attend two charity concerts in support of sick children in Ukraine. Due to the war in Ukraine, medical care for children is currently severely compromised. Children's hospitals have been destroyed leaving many without medicine and medical equipment.

To show our solidarity, we would like to invite you to two benefit concerts on March 29th, 2022, and April 10th, 2022, in the Himmelfahrtskirche München-Sendling. Members of the Munich Philharmonic and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well as many other talented musicians, will perform to raise money for medicine and medical equipment for children in Ukraine.

Donations will be accepted in lieu of admission fees. 100% of the proceeds will be used to support children’s hospitals in Ukraine in Kiev, Kharkiv, Odessa, Lviv and Mariupol. The Himmelfahrtskirche is donating use of the venue for the two evenings and the participating musicians are performing free-of-charge.

The non-profit Care-for-Rare Foundation at the Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital, together with the European Children’s Hospitals Organisation (ECHO), ensures that donations will directly reach those in need. Donations will be used to ensure that sick children in Ukraine continue to receive necessary medical care (e.g. delivery of medication and other medical supplies, transfer of critically ill children, etc.). Donation receipts can be issued upon request.

Given the current pandemic situation, only 375 concert tickets will be issued per evening. To reach as many supporters as possible, the concerts will be broadcast live on YouTube and will thus be available to anyone who wishes to listen from home.
