National Institutes of Health

Together with Prof S. Saleheen from the University of Pennsylvania, Prof C. Weber was awarded a grant in the amount of $733.396 from the The National Instiutes of Health (NIH) to further investigate novel genetic associations in cardiovcascular disease. The earlier genomic and mechanistics studies strongly suggested that CXCL12 and its major receptor CXCR4 are involved in the development of Coronary heart disease (CHD). Funding will be awarded for a period of four years (from 2017 until 2020) for the project:

Molecular mechanism linking the CXCL12 pathway to atherosclerosis.
