The Governing Board of the LMU has taken its funding decision on two central instruments in the third line of the Excellence Initiative at LMU, the Investment Fund and the Junior Researcher Fund . A major Investment Fund for technology support of the first (commercial) stimulated emission depletion (STED) nanoscopic imaging set-up in Munich (Dr. rer.nat. Remco Megens and Prof. Dr. med. Christian Weber with Prof. Dr. med. Steffen Massberg) and a Junior Researcher Fund for studies of neutrophils and atherosclerosis (Prof. Dr. med. Oliver Söhnlein) was granted to IPEK scientists.
