Prof. Weber has been elected as Vice-Chair of the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science of the European Society of Cardiology for the mandate period 2018-2020. He will then serve as the incoming Chair of the ESC Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science for the period of 2020-2022.
Basic science organisations in Europe and ESC Working Groups come together to form the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science (CBCS) that works to promote basic science disciplines and to bridge the gap between science and clinical practice. It will be the mission of Prof. Weber to promote the impact and visibility of basic and translational science within the European cardiovascular research community.
