The unscheduled treatment (medical emergencies)
In case of emergencies which occur in Germany, your treatment costs are covered by a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Please note that the EHIC covers only the costs for services of unforeseen medical events/emergencies. However, EHIC does not cover your health care costs if you travel in order to obtain treatment for a known illness.
