About Us

Welcome to our web presence. We are an interdisciplinary research team with a focus on multimodal and multiparametric imaging. Our team includes scientists with various backgrounds including radiologists, physicists, psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, computer scientists and MR technologists. We use a variety of imaging techniques, such as structural and volumetric magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging (DCE), functional MR imaging (fMRI), functional connectivity MR imaging (fcMRI, also called resting state MR imaging), iron quantification techniques and MR spectroscopy with the aim to elucidate mechanisms of disease processes and to refine diagnostic strategies to achieve a more personalized and precise imaging approach. To reach this end, we translate imaging techniques from neuroimaging to body imaging and vice versa. Moreover, we combine different imaging modalities and techniques and process these with various algorithms (including segmentation and normalization techniques and machine-based learning) to arrive at a more personalized, precise and prognostic diagnostic decision-making process as a fundamental principle underlying therapeutic decision-making.

We have a closely knit network of collaborators from various disciplines, including neurology, psychiatry, pediatric neurology & psychiatry, neonatology and otorhinolaryngology. Moreover, we closely cooperate with various international institutions, including imaging laboratories in Boston, MA, and Miami, FL, USA.
