Minimally - Invasive Therapies for Low Back Pain and Sciatica

In many cases, low back pain or sciatica, originating from degenerative changes of the lumbar spine or from overload do not require an intervention.

Adequate pain medication, physical therapy and other treatments are capable of alleviating the majority of these problems.

However, when there is insufficient improvement and when other origins of pain have been excluded, interventional pain therapies may be indicated.

These include:

  • fluoroscopy-guided spinal injections
  • facet joint or sacroiliac joint denervation (rhizotomy)
  • epidural catheter techniques
