Endoscopic Spinal Surgery

Approaching the spine through an endoscope causes the least possible soft tissue damage while still allowing for surgery to be performed.

Sequestrated disc herniations are ideally suited for endoscopic surgery, provided that adequate access can be gained without major bone resection and that no relevant central canal decompression is needed beyond the removal of the disc material.

Disc herniations that are located directly inside or just outside the neural foramina may even be easier accessible by endoscopy than by a standard microsurgical approach.

With modern endoscopic burr systems, we are also in the position to address certain bony problems, such as foraminal stenoses, via an endoscopic approach
