Laser-Forschungslabor

The Laser-Forschungslabor (LFL) conducts laser-medical research in cooperation with interested parties from various medical disciplines and industry. Advantageous is the direct connection to the clinical service as well as the proximity to numerous companies engaged in laser-medical product development within the greater area of Munich. Intense contacts to institutions outside of Munich are also maintained.

The Laser-Forschungslabor is in close contact with the Labor für Tumorimmunologie (LTI) and the Research Laboratories of the Urological Clinic. These three institutions are forming the Laser- und Immunologie-Forschungseinrichtungen (LIFE-Zentrum) and are residing in one common building near the hospital.

An overview of the research at LIFE-Zentrum is provided by the following publications:
Translational Biophotonics (2021):
Spectroscopic methods to quantify molecules of the heme‐biosynthesis pathway – a review of laboratory work and point‐of‐care approaches
Frontiers of Optoelectronics (2017):
Research and developments of laser assisted methods for translation into clinical application
Journal of Biomedical Optics (2015):
Medical laser application: translation into the clinics.
