Ward B1a | Private ward

Doctors in charge

Prof. Dr. med. Peter Falkai (Senior Consultant) and Dr. med. Tobias Rüther (Consultant)

Our ward is an open private ward. It can accommodate twelve patients, who are cared for by a 15-person team comprising doctors, nurses, a licensed psychologist and a social worker. The ward has six double rooms.
The main communal space is a cosy recreation room where patients can listen to music or watch television. The dining room and a small sun room also provide a pleasant atmosphere.

Main priorities

  • We mainly treat depressive disorders.
  • However, we also treat every other kind of mental illness.

Treatment concept

We design an individual treatment plan for every patient which includes various treatment and group activities.

The doctors have two in-depth conversations a week with each patient. In addition, six patients meet with our licensed psychologist once a week for an hour. The patients are chosen for the group on the basis of their needs. Our nurses are also available for supportive conversations. In addition, they prepare a care history, nursing plan and, together with the treating doctor, an activity plan.

Whenever possible we support the various research groups at our hospital by participating in clinical studies.
