Our outpatient clinic team accompanies patients on their journey out of addiction, whereby we focus mainly on opioid addiction. We can care for a maximum of 140 outpatients in our clinic.

Below you can find answers to the most important questions about our outpatient clinic:

What kind of patients do we see?

Patients with a substance use problem or addiction, e.g. to levomethadone, buprenorphine, morphine sulphate and/or opioids.

Do I need to have a diagnosis already?

•    For general substitution, a diagnosis is useful but not mandatory.
•    For DAM substitution (DAM = diamorphine or diaphin), you must have a diagnosis.
•    Patients must also fulfil other criteria. You can enquire about them by telephone.

What happens at the outpatient clinic?

•    We provide patients with the medicine they need.
•    Every patient should come for a consultation with a doctor once a week.
•    At our clinic you can also take advantage of the psychosocial support offered by the city of Munich.
•    Patients who want to ask about other medical issues can make an appointment to do so. Medical examinations take place at our clinic four times a week.

How often do I have to go to the outpatient clinic?

•    General substitution patients must come to the clinic once a day, unless otherwise agreed.
•    Patients receiving DAM substitution usually come to the clinic two to three times a day.

Do I have to register beforehand, and/or do I need a referral?

We only accept patients sent by the clearing unit or our hospital. Patients are given an appointment and have to arrive on time. This is necessary to ensure that our clinic runs smoothly. Patients must bring their insurance card to their appointments. All other matters will be arranged on the telephone.

Can I participate in studies?

If we are currently conducting studies, anyone can volunteer to participate in them.

If you have questions or would like to make an appointment, you can reach us at Tel. +49-89-4400-57460.

Anyone with questions about addiction or substitution is welcome to ring us 365 days a year from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Patients will then be informed about the clinic’s hours of operation.
