PRONIA-Early Diagnosis

Research Focus

As a clinician scientist, I am eager to explore neuroimaging based diagnostic and prognostic tools that can be translated into clinical practice.

During my PhD studies, I will be investigating impaired neuroplasticity in depression and psychosis expressed in aberrant structural and functional connectivity. I am particularly interested in neurodevelopmental effects of age and sex on the brain structure as well as on the functional organization of the brain during late adolescence and early adulthood. Using machine learning methods may enable me not only to gain the state-of-art in modern psychiatry, but also to provide patients with more refined, personalized treatment.

In 2017, I started my residency at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University. Since October 2017 I am a PhD candidate within the framework of the International Max Planck Research School for Translational Psychiatry with a specific funding for clinician scientists from the Else-Kröner-Fresenius Foundation.
