Regenerative Medicine Course

Course outline

Regenerative medicine (RM) is an exiting interdisciplinary field of basic research and clinical applications focused on repairing, regenerating or replacing damaged cells, tissues or organs. RM combines diverse approaches including small bioactive molecules, gene therapy, stem cell biology, cell reprogramming, tissue engineering, biomaterials engineering and transplantation techniques. In addition, it also includes various enabling technologies (e.g. nanotechnology) and clinical application areas, with the ultimate goal of improving patient lives.

Course time table

In this course, you will learn the basics of regenerative medicine, stem cell biology and technologies, gene targeting and applied animal models, tissue engineering as well as how this knowledge is translated and implemented into patient care. The programme combines lectures, tutorials and demonstrations. These weekly lectures will take place on Thursday, between 13:00 to 14:30 in the Seminar room 1011 of the Experimed Laboratory (Pettenkoferstr. 9b Munich).
