Pathomechanisms and Signatures in the longitudinal Course of Psychosis

(funded by the DFG)

The joint and overall research goal of PsyCourse is to identify pathomechanisms underlying the course of Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder to delineate clinically relevant signatures of course and outcome. These signatures will be comprised of various data modalities (clinical, neuropsychological, brain imaging, genomic, epigenomic, environmental) or combinations thereof. The PsyCourse consortium will extend the phenotypic spectrum of the former Clinical research group 241 to include major depressive disorder given the increasing body of evidence of shared etiological mechanisms across Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Major Depressive Disorder and the major contribution to disease burden jointly conferred by these three disorders.
