About us

The multidisciplinary team of the Institute of Psychiatric
Genomics and Phenomics (IPPG), comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, neuroscientists, molecular biologist, bioinformaticists, medical documentation specialists, and lab techicians are dedicated to the study of the genetic causes of major psychiatric disorders and a patient’s response to medication.
A major focus of our work lies on psychotic disorders such
as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic depressive illness), major depression as well as related conditions such as
anxiety or substance abuse disorders. We are particularly interested in a better understanding of the high variability
of the clinical presentation of mental illness, its changes
over time, and its interaction with environmental factors.
