Network with Medical Faculties

JU-LMU Link: In the year 2002, a Link for Medical Education was forged between Medical Faculties of Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich, Germany, and Jimma University, in Jimma, Ethiopia. From 2002 to 2008, support was provided by Menschen fur Menschen Foundation (MfM). From 2007 to 2010, the partnership was supported by DAAD within the programme, "Subject-related Partnerships with Institutions of Higher Education".

CIH: In the year 2009, the JU-LMU Link became a part of the Center for International Health (CIH) of the Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich and was supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) within the programme "Higher Education Excellence in Development Cooperation - ex)/(ceed". Many other universities joined, and the network spread to South East Asia and Latin America.
